Ingredients
  1. 1 cup of fresh lemon juice
  2. 4 1/2 cups of water
  3. 1/2 cup honey
  4. 3 inches of fresh ginger root
  5. 5 whole cloves
  6. 2 cardamom pods
  7. 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
  1. Juice about 4 lemons until you get 1 cup of lemon juice. Roughly course the unpeeled ginger root.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine half the water (so 2 cups), the lemon juice, honey, ginger root, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon. Bring it to a simmer, stir until the honey is dissolved, then remove from heat. Allow to steep for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. Add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of water. Refrigerate until chilled.
  4. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices!
Notes
  1. I needed about 4 lemons for the juice, plus another lemon for garnishing.
