Nutella Fudge

Oh my, I have to warn you now: this fudge is sinfully decadent and rich. It’s the stuff diabetes is made of. There’s enough calories in it to feed an entire sub-Saharan village for a month. It might send you into a crazy sugar rush, but it’s oh-so-worth-it. This fudge is the perfect self-indulgent treat on the eve of weight-loss resolutions. So let’s ring in the new year with joy and hope, and may 2013 be as sweet as Nutella Fudge!

Ingredients
  1. 1 can (14oz) sweetened, condensed milk
  2. 8 oz bittersweet chocolate
  3. 1 cup Nutella
  4. 3 tbsp butter
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. sea salt (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cover an 8x8in pan with aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. Fill a medium pot with a couple of inches of water over medium-low heat and bring the water to a simmer.
  3. In a heat-proof glass bowl mix together all ingredients except the sea salt. We're going to make an impromptu double boiler: Place the glass bowl over the pot, making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water level. The steam from the simmering water will warm up the glass bowl and eventually melt all the fudge ingredients. Over the next 10-15 minutes, stir the mixture in the glass bowl until everything melts together into an even, smooth hot fudge .
  4. Spread the hot fudge into the 8x8in pan. Optionally, you can sprinkle the fudge with a few pinches of sea salt. Cool in the fridge for about 3 hours. Slice the fudge into 64 1-inch squares and store in an air-tight container in the fridge.
